Cerberus Games and Technology

Independent games · Free software · Made in Canada

Welcome to Cerberus Games and Technology, by Britney Lozza.

Games, useful software, and experiments worth sharing.

Cerberus is a home for independent games and technology built in the open—from BBS-inspired RPGs to terminal applications, mail software, networking tools, and whatever seems interesting enough to build next.

Free and open source code means these projects are not only things to use or play. They are things you can study, modify, break, improve, and learn from.

Portfolio

A growing collection of games and software, with old-school computing sitting comfortably beside modern tools. These are a few highlights; the full portfolio is the complete project catalog, with everything grouped by what it does.

Games

Text adventures, RPGs, and experiments inspired by the computers and games that made programming fun in the first place.

Text RPG · Free Pascal

FSF Avenger

FSF Avenger is a text-based, single-player role-playing game inspired by Legend of the Red Dragon (LORD), one of the best-known BBS door games.

The player trains, grows stronger, and sets out to rescue Richard Stallman from the evil clutches of Brian Lunduke.

It runs on MS-DOS and FreeDOS, while Free Pascal also makes it possible to build and run the game on many modern platforms.

OPP Wars

OPP Wars is a darkly satirical, text-based RPG heavily inspired by classic BBS games. You play a police officer in a city that seems determined to kill you, choosing a class and navigating combat, character progression, and a Paragon-versus-Renegade karma system.

Written in Go, it is designed to play directly in a terminal on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

Go RPG Terminal Cross-platform

Technology

Practical free software for terminals, communication, personal computing, and the occasional idea that gets delightfully out of hand.

IRC client · Go

AnsiChat

AnsiChat is a modern terminal IRC client written in Go. It combines an old-school chat protocol with a comfortable TUI, including mouse support, configurable highlights and keybindings, per-buffer drafts, a URL grabber, relay support, and a TOML-based configuration.

It is built for people who still like IRC but do not want their client to feel trapped in the 1990s.

MailSalon

MailSalon is a Go mail client project built around local Maildir storage and a workflow that keeps the user in control. It supports multiple accounts and brings mail, contacts, and calendar features together while working with tools such as MailSalonSync for synchronization and sending.

The project spans both terminal and graphical interfaces, with an emphasis on keyboard-friendly workflows, readable mail, and software that works well on Linux.

About Cerberus Games and Technology

CerberusGames.ca is an independent place for learning in public: writing software, making video games, experimenting with old and new platforms, and sharing the source so other people can learn from it too.

There is no hard line here between “games” and “technology.” A DOS RPG, an IRC client, a mail program, or an operating-system experiment can all teach something interesting. The projects are built because programming is worth exploring—not just as a product, but as a craft.
